After loosing power for three days down in my neck of the woods, the weather has become mild, with much of the snow having melted after the ice storm gave way to rain. It's been a season full of ups and downs: Many Northern New Brunswickers are still without power after a full week and down near Sackville, it felt like Spring today! Here are a few highlights from the last weeks and - not the full newsletters - but some featured recipes that are helping CSA members stay creative with the produce that is available this time of year (scroll through to the bottom for those recipes)

All of the 35 CSA members have now received a selection of gourmet mushrooms from the fabulous Moonlight Mushrooms. I received so much positive feedback about this item and am very proud of my friends - the growers - Jeremiah Percival and Elizabeth Gorman!
Week 5 also consisted of micro-greens from my good friend Eric at Vital Source Nutrition. It was nice to include a boost of fresh greens in with the continual supply of roots and brasicas.

Week 6 shares included the sugar pumpkins that I've been holding onto since September. They've kept extremely well, even though the storage room temperature is a little bit warmer and drier than is ideal for squash and pumpkins.
I decided to provide some creative recipes from some of my favorite sites so that CSA members can innovate using some of the staple Winter root vegetables. There is a Moroccan Stew Recipe, a Cabbage Pad Thai, Curry and a few other great recipes to try!
